“We do certainly welcome this cashflow into our businesses and we will just try to hang on until international borders open again.”
But those in Northland, who want the same thing, are worried about the checkpoint effects.
Dive Tutukaka owner Jereon Jongejans says told Mike Yardley being in red could put people off.
“If you are in Auckland and you look where am I going to go and there’s a red area or there’s an orange area, most people will think it’s about time we hit an orange area.”
