The Electricity Authority plans to ban the use of offers to "win back" customers within 180 days of a customer leaving - beginning at the end of March.
Electric Kiwi is applauding the decision, saying the win back scheme only helps out the big companies.
CEO Luke Blincoe told Mike Hosking the scheme didn't cater for smaller companies.
"The best prices are only available to those who leave, which means loyal customers are subsidising the less loyal and those who leave."
