Ghislaine Maxwell's high profile sex trafficking trial is getting underway in New York today.

The 59-year-old has been in jail since her arrest last year, awaiting the high-profile six-week trial.

It's alleged she groomed underage girls for former boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein.

The financier died in prison in 2019 as he awaited his trial on sex trafficking charges.

Maxwell has pleaded not guilty to all charges against her.

Law professor Laurie Levenson told Mike Hosking there's likely going to be corroborating evidence.

“They have lots of communications, they have Maxwell being with Epstein, they have financial records, they have text records, so it’s not just one person’s word against the other.”
