It's a simple notion to help keep kids in sport, let them have fun.
In America, 50 Olympic codes and a number of other sports have adopted what they call the American Development Model.
It focuses on allowing kids to be kids, encouraging unstructured play and dropping rep programs in the early years to focus more on fun.
The man who developed this model is former ice hockey player Ken Martel, who is the country at the moment.
He joined Mike Hosking in studio to explain further about his project.
