Special computer games could help rewire children's brains to help with learning difficulties.
Auckland University's brain dynamics lab has developed a combination of these games and exercise to build up weak parts of the brain.
Children who've followed the programme every day for 10 weeks can recognise patterns faster than those who've spent the same time doing other activities.
Psychology professor Karen Waldie told Mike Hosking the programme is for children between the ages of six and 14.
"Sp we get them to do high impact exercise for 10 minutes, and then they sit at the computer and they do computer games for 20 minutes. That's basically it for ten weeks."
