Politicians pushing for Auckland's port to move north are being accused of arrogance.
A government working group has suggested Northport, near Whangarei, as an alternative.
But the government wants more work done on the costs and feasibility.
Auckland councillor John Watson told Mike Hosking the council is the owner of the port, which is its biggest asset.
He says there's been no consultation or approaches to the port, which should've happened at some stage.
