There are around 3500 people living with HIV in New Zealand, according to a new survey.
The New Zealand AIDS Foundation found in a 2018 survey that one in four sexually active men who have sex with men in New Zealand have never had an HIV test, and over 500 don’t know they have it.
New Zealand Aids foundation Executive Director Dr Jason Myers told Mike Hosking the landscape has considerably changed over the last few years.
"We are trying to get a complex set of messages out there to prevent HIV."
