The government is rejecting a suggestion of 'no jab, no pay' to combat the measles outbreak.
Nearly 1000 people have now contracted the disease.
174,000 more people have been immunised in Australia since its government started penalising beneficiaries if their children weren't vaccinated.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told Mike Hosking the 'no jab, no pay' policy doesn't capture the whole of society.

"The government is taking the outbreak seriously, and we are responding with tangible things that will actually make a difference."
