Recommendations from a recent report into the racing industry include re-naming and restructuring the New Zealand Racing Board into Wagering New Zealand.

Basketball New Zealand CEO Iain Potter supports that move, saying sports betting is one of the biggest parts of TAB's business.

Potter told Mike Hosking that gallops, harness and greyhounds should all be guaranteed a spot at the board table.

"Any considered changes should take into account the impact on the sporting community."
