A pollster who called the last US election result is confident Democrat Joe Biden will win the presidency.

However, there are signs that Trump could do better than expected, especially in Florida. 

Henry Olsen, who predicted the 2016 election for Trump, told Mike Hosking the loyal Republican state of Georgia may flip, and possibly even Texas.

"Anywhere that's got a lot of suburbs and educated people is trending [Democrat], and that includes traditionally red states like Georgia and Texas."

He also predicts the Democrats will win the House.

Olsen says the only question is how many numbers they add.

"If Biden wins the country by six or seven percent or more, I think we will narrowly carry North Carolina - and Democrats will take 50-50 tie in the Senate."
