The Government's hoping to roll out the inoculation programme for that age group by the end of next month.
Ormiston Primary School principal, Heath McNeil, told Mike Hosking schools have always been part of the public health response, including hearing and vision testing.
And he says the vaccines will give schools the freedom to provide the best education for their communities' children again.
“Because it’s been limited over the last two years, so the more we can do to free up how we deliver education again is going to be great for our community and their children.”
