Former All Blacks Captain Graham Mourie says he's having "a bit of a Déjà vu moment" after the All Blacks loss to Ireland over the weekend.

Mourie, who led the All Blacks side when they famously lost to Munster, told Mike Hosking Ireland is a real threat.

"I think Ireland have always been able to bring huge passion and intensity and you couple that with the team now being really well coached [and] being really tactically astute and  I think probably technically the best team in the country."

"Their ability to carry the ball forward strongly and they have great support of the breakdowns and I they look for space when they need it and I guess above all they have good players in good positions." 

He said the All Blacks were well prepared but "gave away silly penalties under pressure".

"The other thing, besides a few uncharacteristic errors, we were just unable to get continuity and go forward in the midfield."
