Kiwi MPs are in Canberra this week, talking cyber-security, agriculture, and climate change.

27 countries are taking part in the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum, designed to advance regional cooperation.

The New Zealand delegation includes National MP's Barbara Kuriger and Jonathan Young - along with Labour's Ginny Anderson.

Andersen told Tim Dower that there are some big items on the agenda.

"Climate change is a big one, but the second one is more equal representation of women across the board."

The climate change issue is pertinent to Australia due to the ongoing bush fire threat. Andersen says that in her conference pack, they received face masks in order to breathe safely outside.

"It hits home that it's very real when you have to wear masks when discussing climate change."

She says that New Zealand has every right to be proud about our zero carbon mission.

The event wraps up on Thursday.
