Black Caps coach Gary Stead told Mike Yardley he and the team were confident and kept their composure.

“Personally I was relatively calm, I think there have been other matches in the tournament which I was feeling the heart was racing a bit more, but the guys held their nerve really well.”

Stead hopes New Zealand's good fortune will continue for Sunday night's final, but says whatever happens, today is a victory.
