Corrections Association calls for more action on prisoner violence against guards.
Corrections figures show violence towards prison guards has risen, with gangs behind much of it.
There have been more than 900 assaults on guards in the last financial year.
Corrections Association President Floyd de Plessis told Mike Hosking an agreement was made in Parliament in May, to start a violence and aggression action plan, but no measures have been implemented.
He says there needs to be consequences for assaults.
“At the moment, they assault an officer, they may or may not get a couple of days lockdown, and they’re back and laughing in staff’s face.”
