Privacy commissioner John Edwards joins Mike Hosking to talk about Facebook's new rules in relation to the Christchurch mosque attacks.

Facebook have announced changes to their live streaming, where people who break their policies will be immediately banned from using Facebook Live for a period of time.

A group of world leaders and tech giants, led by Jacinda Ardern and Emmanuel Macron, have vowed to stop the internet being used as a tool for terrorists.

The countries joining France and New Zealand are Britain, Canada, Ireland, Jordan, Norway, Senegal, Indonesia, Australia and the EU's executive body.

Edwards says Facebook is finally waking up and listening to the world.

He says a "chilling report" he heard was had the restrictions been in place on the 15th of March, the terrorist would not have to broadcast the massacre.

Following the Christchurch shooting, Facebook removed 1.5 million copies of the mosque attack video.
