Britain's NHS has completed day one of a new blood test trial...that could revolutionise survival and treatment rates of cancer. Â
It will see 140,000 volunteers be given the Galleri test, which looks for cancerous DNA in the bloodstream, before it properly forms. Â
Early trials already show it's effective at discovering hard to identify cancers around the head, neck, lungs and throat. Â
Cancer Society Medical Director Dr Kate Gregory told Mike Hosking it could be a game changer. Â
"There's been some preliminary trials of using this exact same test in the United States which did give really encouraging results, but this is a much bigger trial."Â
