The Auckland couple who travelled to Wānaka have outed themselves and apologised.
They are 35-year-old William Willis and 26-year-old Hannah Rawnsley.
In their apology, they have said their actions were completely irresponsible and inexcusable but that they sought name suppression because they had received death threats.
