Confirmation from New Zealand Cricket that the threat against the Black Caps was a specific threat against New Zealand.
The Black Caps tour of Pakistan was abruptly cancelled on Friday night, just minutes before the first ball was due to be bowled, due to intelligence about a credible threat.
The players and support staff are now in Dubai, with most due to return to New Zealand in the coming week.
New Zealand Cricket Chief Executive David White told Mike Hosking the threat wasn't against touring cricket teams, but specifically against the Black Caps.
“We did all the checks, but unfortunately on Friday, it changed. We got this advice from the Government, a credible threat against the New Zealand Cricket team, and we acted on it.”
