Politicians, activists and business people will be among those attending the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The summit in Switzerland begins today and is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Trade Minister David Parker is on his way.
He told Mike Hosking there will be a lot of focus on the World Trade Organisation, which is under threat.
Parker says the more valuable things for the country's trade will occur at side meetings relating to the World Trade Organisation.
"There are some real problems with the security of our trade agreements, which other countries agree with. We are getting together to see if we can find a way forward."
