Super Rugby bosses are trying to find ways next year's Pacific tournament can go ahead as planned - but want flexibility from the Government.

Sports Minister Grant Robertson would like players to be able to train in isolation, but says they won't be exempt from MIQ because it's a public health matter.

Crusaders chief executive Colin Mansbridge told Mike Hosking they're exploring ways to make it so easy, the Government sees it as a low-risk option.

“Bubbles of professional athletes being managed intensively both here and in Australia, the risk profile might be slightly less than some of the other risk profiles that emerge from returning travellers.”

Mansbridge says the traffic light system gives them the opportunity to play in front of crowds of double-vaccinated people.
