The Government is taking a slow and steady approach to the changes to MIQ.
Fully vaccinated Kiwis will be able travel home from Australia without MIQ from January 16, and from all other countries from February 13.
All other fully vaccinated travellers will be able to come here from April 30.
Covid-19 response Minister Chris Hipkins told Mike Hosking they're spreading any potential risks across these dates.
“We want to allow a pathway for New Zealanders to come home but we also want to make sure we’re not dumping a whole host of additional risk on New Zealanders to the point where we end up with a massive outbreak.”
