The Police Association wants to see more than a slap on the wrist following the latest Auckland shooting.
Three AOS members were shot yesterday in Glen Eden after a man opened fire at them.
The gunman was killed, while one officer was seriously injured and two colleagues were hurt.
Police Association President Chris Cahill told Mike Hosking if we start getting blasé about guns in New Zealand, that's a dangerous place to end up.
“It’s all well and good to bend over backwards to reduce sentences down to home detention. That might work for some people, it doesn't work for the most dangerous gang members out there happy to shoot up the streets. And remember, innocent members of the public are being caught in this.”
