The Government is being urged to get more farmers involved in recovery so they can get back to work quicker if they're hit by Mycoplasma bovis.
The Prime Minister will give an update on the cattle disease today.
She and Agriculture Minister Damien O'Connor are visiting a Wairarapa farm that's restocking after being cleared of the disease.
Mycoplasma bovis-affected farmer Ben Walling told Mike Yardley it's important the Ministry for Primary Industries gets the recovery side of things sorted.
"That will then, in turn, speed up compensation, the big issue at the moment is the slowness in getting paid, so you can get back to farming."
