A series of scandals appears to have pushed Labour down in the polls.
Labour is down three points to 40 percent and National up two point to 47 percent in the latest One News Colmar Brunton poll.
The Newshub-Reid Research poll has also delivered a similar result.
The party has been under fire with a sexual assault scandal, the failure of its flagship Kiwibuild policy, and Shane Jones undermining Ardern's authority.
Newstalk ZB political editor Barry Soper told Mike Hosking Ardern hasn't dealt with them as well as she should have.
"The leadership of Jacinda Ardern hasn’t been up to scratch.
“When you look at some of the major issues she has had to confront, I think she has fallen short.”
Soper says the results aren't surprising, given the last few months have been so disastrous for Labour.
"You have had the Kiwibuild splinters, the sex scandals the party ignored which claimed the job of the Party’s president, and now Shane Jones, a member of her own cabinet.”
