Decision makers need to get a move on if Auckland is to get a free waterfront stadium, according to the Auckland Waterfront Consortium.
A developer-paid and built stadium has be proposed for Bledisloe Wharf.
Should it go-ahead, there would be an international bidding process for a funder who would get development rights of the wharf and Eden Park - and build at their own cost.
Consortium chair Dave Wigmore is worried Auckland councillors examination of the proposal could delay the process.
"We certainly don't want that to happen We could lose that window of opportunity here for some events in 2030 and 2031 that are pretty important to the City of Auckland."
