The latest changes to Covid testing and home isolation may be a sign the virus is going to spread to more corners of the country.
Businesses can source rapid antigen tests from Wednesday, and people can buy their own from pharmacies from December 15.
The Government's also committing extra funding to managing and supporting more people in home isolation.
Health Minister Andrew Little told Mike Hosking the Government is preparing for Covid to spread far and wide, once the traffic light system starts, Auckland's border reopens, and summer travel starts.
“We’ve got to make sure we’ve got testing capacity right across the country.”
