A legislation review on personal technologies impacting airspaces, is taking too long.

The Air Line Pilots Association is calling on the Government to be more serious about laser and drone incidents.

President Tim Robinson told Mike Hosking the association's come up with its own review recommendations in the meantime.

"We actually want to see a complete prohibition of the high power battery operated laser because we don't believe that they have any utility in society and they are being use just for aircraft relation and aviation related incidents."

He said some drones do have a place, but they need more controls as the number of drone-related incidents climbs.

Robinson said the Government is hearing their calls, but failing to take action quickly enough.

"I think they believe they are still gathering data, I'm not sure that they believe the issues are as real as we portray."
