In 1989, a generation of baby-boomer leaders revolted at Robert Muldoon's conservatism and rewrote the nation's software.

It meant that after years of toeing the lines, restaurants were suddenly opened later, homosexuality was discussed openly, and Māori were given new opportunities.

So what could Gen X/Y/Zers do if they win power in the next decade?
