So Meghan and Harry, eh? They are behaving like a pair of brats.

I know not everyone will agree with me. I’ve heard quite a bit of support for the pair and for their right to leave the monarchy and live a quiet life. But, quite a few people are annoyed by their behaviour.

And I’ve got to be honest, I’m in that camp. It’s not so much because they’re leaving the royal family. Of course they’re more than entitled to leave - it’s the way they’re leaving.

They’ve embarrassed the Queen by telling her only 10 minutes before they told the world, and they’re playing the victims. According to them, this is all the media’s fault because the media are mean to them.

Let me remind you: when they got married it was nothing but amazing headlines. And Harry has been the media’s darling forever. The only reason that changed is because of Harry and Meghan’s own actions.

Remember when Meghan went to Wimbledon and her security banned anyone from taking her photo? Remember when Harry got self-righteous about climate change, then caught a series of private jets?  Or remember when the pair of them sued British media over stories they didn’t like? Or the leaks suggesting they think the rest of the royals are jealous of the ‘superstar power’.

That’s why the media gave them a hard time.

Now, I’m  not on the side of the media here, because the British tabloids play dirty and some of what they do is wrong. 

But Harry’s been around long enough to know the deal. He gets to live a life of ridiculous luxury partly funded by the public and in exchange the public are interested in his life, so the media covers his life. And he would know that he gets to decide what kind of coverage he gets. by the way he acts.

Act like a brat, they give you a hard time. Rise above it, they give you a good time.

They are the authors of their own misfortune, and it’s probably their inability to see it that, and their inability to see how luxurious their life has been, that annoys people most.
