Prince Charles and Prince William will lead a royal summit to decide the future of the monarchy.

The Telegraph is reporting the future kings will decide things such as how many working members the royal family should have.

"In consultation with the Queen, Britain's next two kings will decide how many fulltime working members the royal family should have, who they should be, and what they should do," the British paper reports.

"The death of Prince Philip has left the royal family with the immediate question of how and whether to redistribute the hundreds of patronages he retained."

Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter told Heather du Plessis-Allan the Queen will be involved to be some degree - but it's likely she recognises the fact she's be 95 this week.

"Any talk of the future and the future of the monarchy is going to affect Prince Charles and Prince William far more than it will affect her, but she is still the boss and nothing happens without her approval."
