Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will introduce a Government motion next week to declare a climate change emergency.
If Parliament supports the motion, it will be a symbolic move - the declaration of a climate change emergency doesn't effect any rules or regulations.
The exact wording of that motion will be publicly released the day before.
