There are 11 districts in the North Island that will start in the Red setting when the Traffic Light System kicks in on Friday.

However, a lot of the districts that are in Red are largely areas that haven’t got high enough vaccination rates, despite having little to no Covid cases.

The districts that will start in Red are Northland, Auckland, Taupō and Rotorua Lakes Districts, Kawerau, Whakatane, Ōpōtiki Districts, Gisborne District, Wairoa District, Rangitikei, Whanganui and Ruapehu.

The remaining North Island districts and all of the South Island will move into Orange.

Meanwhile, no deal has been struck on the next National leader.

The frontrunners for party leadership are Christopher Luxon and Simon Bridges.

The new leader is set to be announced on Tuesday.

Prince Charles is revealed to have made the comment about the skin colour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's baby.

This was revealed in a soon-to-be-released book by American journalist Christopher Andersen.
