The Prime Minister's unimpressed with National's Simon Bridges calling lPolice Commissioner Andrew Coster a woke.

Bridges says Coster's putting being nice ahead of law and order.

But Jacinda Ardern, who appointed Coster to the job, says Bridges is departing from convention and a personal attack and is unwarranted.

She doesn't know what Coster's done to earn the rebuke and says it's unfair.

National leader Judith Collins later said she has spoken with Simon Bridges, and that her Party doesn't condone attacks on senior police officers or public servants.

Across the ditch, the NSW Premier has called on New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to "return the favour" and reciprocate Australia's trans-Tasman bubble with New Zealand.

In a press conference today, Gladys Berejiklian said Kiwis now need to "return the favour" to Australians after Scott Morrison resumed allowing New Zealanders to enter Australia quarantine-free.

She said they've been accepting of New Zealanders for some time and it's time Ardern and her Government "pull their weight" in creating a two-way trans-Tasman bubble.

Meanwhile, a freshly minted Green MP tried to get an emergency spot in MIQ twice.

Ricardo Menendez-March came under fire after he flew overseas for a serious family matter in Mexico.

Now, a Parliamentary written question's revealed he first attempted to land an urgent MIQ spot as a critical health service.

He then had a go under the 'required for national security' category.

National leader Judith Collins isn't impressed -- saying it's the fact he applied twice and claimed to be critical to New Zealand.

Both applications were declined -- but he got a spot through the normal website process and spent two weeks in managed isolation before returning to Parliament.
