Some excellent news for kiwi director Taika Waititi today, after his new film Jojo Rabbit scooped the People's Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival.

It’s an important distinction, as that award is an Oscar bellweather. Nine of the last 10 winners have gone on to score at least a Best Picture nomination.

So is Jojo Rabbit on its way too?
