New Zealand Rugby says it's nailed the big one in its renewed partnership with Sky TV.

Sky has extended its SANZAAR broadcast deal until 2025. New Zealand Rugby will also become a five percent shareholder in Sky.

CEO Steve Tew says it gives the organisation a real sense of financial security.

"We know how much money we're now going to have from our broadcasting for the next five years, and we can plan for our future with real confidence."

Tew says it will be a longer and deeper partnership, broadening the game at all levels.

"Big commitment from Sky around our community game. Big commitment from Sky in building interest in the women's game, as well as maintaining a focus on our sevens and 15s teams."
