Tenby Powell resigned at an extraordinary council meeting this afternoon, in the hopes it would trigger Government intervention.
The Local Government Minister reveals she'll be receiving advice next week about whether the threshold for intervention has been reached.
City Councillor Steve Morris told Heather du Plessis-Allan he was surprised, but it was the right thing to do.
“There’s been a behaviour issue over the past 12 months for which council needs to take collective responsibility, but the tone comes down from the top.”
Morris says the Mayor hasn't led - which is sad because he came to the table promising a lot - but ultimately failed to deliver.
