Pre-fab houses could be the solution to the country’s housing crisis
Stuff reported that manufacturing company Concision and house building company Versatile Pukekohe have built a four bedroom, two bathroom house in just 10 weeks.
Scott Fisher, CEO of industry group Prefab NZ, told Heather du Plessis-Allan that this pace is sustainable and exciting - and this hasÂ
"The off-site sector in New Zealand has been kicking along for you could say decades.
"This is just another great example of the industry gaining traction and moving forward."
He says those houses are ready to move in after 10 weeks, with the site works usually completed by the time the house is built.Â
Fisher says these houses can be as personally designed as the home buyer wants.Â
