Christchurch may yet get a bigger 30-thousand seat stadium.
A notice of motion has been lodged asking for a second look at the decision to proceed with a smaller 25-thousand seat stadium.
It comes after documents reveal the cost of the bigger stadium is $21 million less than originally tabled.
Councillors will revisit the decision next Thursday.
Councillor Sam MacDonald told Heather du Plessis Allan says there is a mood in Christchurch that the original decision is short-sighted.
“Our logic has always been do it once and do it right. So ultimately, I think public pressure and a wee bit of political pressure, but more public pressure, should lead us to a good outcome next Thursday.”
