For the first time, you can now see how much money you will get from KiwiSaver when you retire at 65.
Annual KiwiSaver statements are being sent out with a new addition of a projected lump sum, that will ideally help people through retirement.
Financial Markets Authority chief executive Rob Everett told Heather du Plessis-Allan this could be quite confronting for some customers.
"There's the prospect that some people will be disappointed by what their KiwiSaver projection tells them they'll get at 65."
But Mr Everett says that is the point.
"What this is designed to do is to say to people you might want to have a think what this is telling you, you may get 65, and if that's not what you expected or it's disappointing or it's rather lower than you thought, most people will still have time to fix that."
