Keen skiers and snowboarders have packed out South Island skifields.
Mt Hutt was turning away late arrivals in Canterbury early this morning once it reached capacity of nearly 3500 skiers and snowboarders.
There were also reports of long queues at Cardrona, with thousands on the slopes.
NZ Ski CEO Paul Anderson told Heather du Plessis-Allan masses of people have turned up to the slopes after a three day storm.
He says everyone is wanting to make the most of the good conditions up the mountain.
“We’re expecting another big day today, as people make the most of the good weather. It’s going to be a great second week of the school holidays."
