Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has revealed the Australian state will lift the snap Brisbane lockdown today.

The state has recorded 10 news cases today – but nine are in hotel quarantine, and just one was locally transmitted.

As a result, the lockdown is lifted from 12 noon (AEST) today.

"Easter is good to go," Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.

For the next two weeks from noon today until Thursday, 15 April, all Queenslanders will be required to carry a mask when they leave their home.

"We will also ask you to wear those masks in indoor spaces such as shopping centres and supermarkets, indoor workplaces, public transport," the Premier said.

"Anyone attending food or beverage establishments, so if you're out there going to a restaurant or cafe or a pub, you must be seated.

"We have to go back to the seating. This is really important that we are doing this for the next two weeks."

The Premier has warned that the virus threat facing Queensland is not over yet, despite the lockdown being lifted at noon.

"I'm asking all Queenslanders, for the next two weeks if we all do the right thing, we can get through this together," she said.

Dancing in public venues and businesses can reopen, but the 2 square metre rule applies.
Events can proceed as planned if a Covid-safe plan is in place, but masks must be worn outside if social distancing is not possible.

Easter Mass can go ahead with one person per 2 square metres, and they can be held at 100 per cent capacity if people are seated and the event is ticketed.

Fury at Queensland's quarantined travellers' 'stupid' act

Anger has erupted in Queensland after two quarantined people were snapped socialising and passing objects between them.

The concerning photographs were taken by Brisbane resident Bob Price as he walked past the Hotel Grand Chancellor quarantine hotel on Tuesday.

"I saw them leaning over so they were breathing in each other's faces," Price told the Courier Mail.

"And you can see one person possibly passing the other something over their balconies.

"It's really annoying and kind of scary to see contact between people in a quarantine hotel," he said. We would hope everyone is taking this lockdown seriously."

Two men were given official warnings by police as a result.
