Tenancy Services has been called about insulation more than 300 times in the two days since the law change.
Rental owners had until Monday to insulate floors and ceilings if practical, and tenants can be awarded up to $4000 in damages if landlords don't comply
Tenants made 322 calls about insulation to the service on Monday and Tuesday, and 21 applied to take their landlord to the Tenancy Tribunal.
Aspire Property Management's Mike Atkinson told Heather du Plessis-Allan tenants might not realise they can dob in their landlord.
"Tenants may be afraid of exercising their rights. Many of them don't want to disrupt things, but its good these type of stories are making it into the media."
