Countdown is concerned about assaults in stores.
A 42-year-old man's been charged with four counts of attempted murder in a Dunedin Countdown.
Four people have had surgery today for stab wounds, and the man's been remanded in custody until his next appearance in June.
Countdown employee Michelle McKenzie has echoed the chain's concerns.
She told Andrew Dickens for more than a year, there's been daily abuse in stores.
"We're getting at least verbally abused every single day."
