An auctioneer says if The Block apartment owners were present at last nights auction, the night may have been more successful.
Three of the four couples competing in the TV show went home with nothing - with two apartments failing to sell, and only one meeting reserve.
Mark Sumich told Heather du Plessis-Allan the owners weren't there to make critical decisions about putting their properties on the market.
He says it's a flawed decision for owners to be absent - because they could've slightly altered the reserves.
"Most auctions you'd find owners prudent enough to say 'if this is what we've squeezed out, let's put it on the market', and if they had, they may have ended up getting more."
