There are concerns from hospitality businesses about the criteria for the latest wage subsidy.
Businesses must show a 40 per cent drop in revenue over two weeks compared to a typical fortnight in the six weeks before levels changed on February 14.
However Restaurant Association CEO Marisa Bidois told Heather du Plessis-Allan the issue is that the comparative period earlier in the year was already challenged by Covid-19.
"For many businesses in the CBD, January is already a quiet time for businesses.
"So to show a 40 percent loss comparatively to an already quiet month, it really is making some people pull their hair out."
She says they'd like to see a different comparative period.
"We could even trading in February 2020, for example, or February 2019Â as a more stable comparison."
