An Auckland Business Chamber survey has shown that 90 per cent of Auckland businesses have experienced significant erosion in equity.

Almost 50 per cent say they’ve lost in excess of $100,000 and 20 per cent don’t think their business will survive.

It all comes as Grant Robertson is set to announce a business package.

NZ Herald Business Editor Liam Dann told Andrew Dickens the survey got 1000 responses fairly quickly and the Business Chamber is fairly optimistic that those 80 per cent of businesses doing it tough will make it through.

"Let's hope they’re in a low patch now and more than that do make it through and let's hope that Grant Robertson has got something for them."
