“One hell of a ride I’ve had.”
After 27 years on air, Larry Williams has signed off from ZB’s Drive show for one final time.
The long-term broadcaster announced last week that he would be stepping down.
In his final moments, Williams told audiences that it is time to go.
“I feel very fortunate. I kind of feel blessed.”
He says that it has been a privilege to work at ZB and the “wonderful people” that work there.
“I know it’s a cliché, but it’s true, you’re only as good as the team you work with.”
Admitting he’s got a tear in his eyes, Williams praised his producers and contributors, but saved his biggest thanks for his listeners.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Listen to Williams last words above, as well as some a roundup of some of his best moments from the last three decades.
Don’t worry, though – while Larry is taking the rest of the year off, expect him on air from time-to-time when we can coax him away from the golf course!
