The Prime Minster has welcomed a study that finds children are calling for more regulation around junk food advertising.
Research of 33 kids aged between 11 and 13 concludes that youngsters want junk food advertising banned and healthy food promoted.
Lead author of the study from the University of Otago Louise Signal says people should find the methodology of the study credible.
"We got a random selection of kids from that study, so they're from 16 different schools in the Wellington region and they're Māori, Pasifika New Zealand European kids from a range of schools, neighbourhoods and boys and girls.
"It's a pretty good study of it's type."
