Police didn't make a single arrest after hundreds of gang members blocked roads and crisscrossed Auckland on bikes and hanging out of cars all day.
The gangs were out in force after a large funeral procession for one of their own this morning.
NZ Police Superintendent Karyn Malthus told Heather du Plessis-Allan that the gangs were well behaved during the funeral.
“Members of the gang community did engage with the police and they by and large followed the road rules.”
There were 30 officers from Malthus’ deployed on the road and in headquarters.
